Delete your account

The short version: there is a Delete my account button inside the app, on the account screen. It works immediately and nobody has to approve it. If you have already uninstalled the app, email [email protected] from the address you signed in with and it will be done for you.

Doing it yourself, in the app

Open Bike Nights and go to the More tab.
Tap Your account.
Tap Delete my account, then confirm.

It happens straight away and it cannot be undone.

If you no longer have the app

Email [email protected] from the email address you used to sign in, and say you would like your account deleted. Using the same address is how we know it is you. We will not delete an account on the word of a different address, for obvious reasons.

Requests are dealt with within 30 days and usually within a couple of days. You will get a reply confirming it is done.

What is deleted

Your account and the ability to sign in.
Your email address.
Your display name.
Your saved bike nights.
Any photo of yours still waiting to be reviewed.

What stays, and why

The bike nights, events and corrections you sent in stay on the map, but with your name detached from them. We would rather explain that than have it surprise you.

If you fixed a wrong start time six months ago and hundreds of riders have relied on it since, deleting your account should remove you. It should not un-fix the time. Once your name is detached, those entries are no longer personal information about you at all.

If you would rather a specific submission were removed as well, say so in the same email and it will be.

Photos you have had published

A published photo stays unless you ask for it to go. Ask, and it goes. There is no argument to be had about it.

Anything else

The full detail of what is held and for how long is in the privacy policy. If something here is unclear, that is our fault rather than yours, so get in touch and we will fix the wording.
